High Performance Computing survey
This survey ran from March to 22nd May 2009 and is now closed.
The survey was designed to give us a better idea of the usage and need for high performance computing across the research sector.
MoRST has a policy and process for investment in large-scale research infrastructure. The information from this survey will help us to advise the government on research infrastructure requirements in the area of high performance computing.
What is HPC?
High performance computing (HPC) requires large computer processing power, such as that available on a super computer, or a cluster of computers. HPC is often used for modelling or image analysis and production. Iterations of calculations can be performed in parallel with large amounts of input data relating to many variables.
Report
When the data are analysed a report will be written and posted on this site. No individual will be identified, and answers will be aggregated for the purposes of reporting.
Kathleen Logan will write the summary report, and can be contacted at Kathleen.Logan@MoRST.govt.nz or (04) 917 2900.
Survey closed 22nd May 2009.
